I INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS THE CONTEMPORARY PROTOCOL
From the Congress of Vienna to the present (1814-2014)
200 years ago, in the Austrian city of Vienna, the great powers of the time held an international meeting to reestablish the borders of Europe after the defeat of Napoleon I and carry out an important ideological reform in the conceptual bases of the States, on the principle monarchical of legitimacy and those of equality and balance between the States. Protocol, as an image of power, was born - different from the ceremonial one - at the hand of Napoleon I and the Cortes of Cádiz, for different reasons, but with the same foundation: the need to give it legitimacy. Since then, the European ceremonial conception has changed, the precedents between States are adapted to the new order based on the principle of equality, and diplomacy will adapt to the new circumstances. Political events will set the lines along which the protocol will evolve until it forms what it is. Coinciding with the Bicentennial of this event in this Congress, we will talk about those events, the protocol, the ceremonial, the evolution of the protocol from the ceremonial, the nature of the protocol, its character, the elements Dolores del Mar Sánchez González Director of the Master in Protocol of the UNED IP GIHPJ-P on which it relies and the techniques it uses, as well as its different fields of action in a modern and globalized society.
Seven Sections will make up the International Congress "The Contemporary Protocol":

4. Protocol as a legal discipline
5. Diplomacy and protocol
6. Specific areas of the protocol.
7. Protocol, communication and Public Relations
There will be conferences, invited speakers and the traditional papers and communications received from each of the programmed sections.
The languages of the Congress, in which papers and communications may be presented are: Spanish, Portuguese, French and English.
